Making art is great for bonding with family and friends. So let's make something beautiful together. This class is structured for kids and parents to learn to marble paper together.

Marbling paper is an ancient technique of getting delicate wisps of color on to paper. Turkish marbling was made popular in the early bookmaking days to decorate the end pages. You will learn to float paint on algae and pull unique vibrant prints on paper. You will also go home with a stack of beautifully decorated paper for paper airplanes, greeting cards, art journaling, collage, and home decorations. All skill levels welcome. Perfect for adults and kids 8-18.

Your class fee includes marbling paint and float medium, the use of combs and tools and the Masa paper to print on.

Taska has always played in the dim, dusty, cluttered rooms and shaded tangled woods. Making art is a way for her to seek out more of these obscure places and learn secrets from them. Particular mediums and forms like paste paint, encaustics, bookmaking, assemblage, and found objects lend themselves to building art that looks old, rusted, dirty, and bound together. Taska’s pieces are tools for exploring and cataloging her animal guardians and familiars, emotions about her own body, and her dance with depression. Taska Eugenia Caroline Gage Sanford has been creating and making ever since she learned to paint, as a child, from her grandmother back in the deep South. She now lives and creates in Berkeley, CA with her husband, daughter, mother and two cats. With a bachelor's in fine arts and the drive to spread art into world she teaches workshops across the Bay Area. See more @posttaska
