Just in time for Valentine's Day, learn to made delightful hybrid tea roses. Working in your choice of double-sided crepe papers in a beautiful array of colors, you will create your own paper tea rose, which can be displayed on its own or worked into floral crowns and garlands. Instruction will be provided on how to create leaves as well, and students will be given extra materials to create another rose and more leaves at home.

If you have a favorite pair of crafting scissors, you are welcome to bring them. We will take a brief lunch break at 12:30. Light snacks and refreshments will be served.

Tiffanie Turner is an artist who explores nature and botany in large and small scales in paper. She is a wife, mother of two young children, and a licensed California architect. Her work in paper stems from her background as an architect, particularly her interest in construction and repetitive motifs, along with her lifelong passion for flowers and botanical drawings. Her work can be seen around the Bay Area when she is exhibiting, online at www.papelsf.com and @tiffanieturner. Last spring at the de Young Museum Tiffanie was the artist in residence for the month of May 2016. Her first book on paper flowers, titled "The Fine Art of Paper Flowers," came out last August by Ten Speed Press.
